Over the last month South Wall has completed the renovations of the Special Operations Trailer which is home to mostly Structural Collapse Equipment. We had instructors in from Safety and Survival Training to hold refresher training on the skills of shoring up a compromised building with our Paratech Struts and Lumber.

Members from South Wall Fire Rescue and Unexcelled Fire (Neptune) Battled it out in the friendly Annual Turkey Bowl. Unexcelled won again with a score of 8-2 but more importantly there were no injuries and everyone had a great time! See you next year!

Every principal building shall have its street address clearly posted in an area which is visible from the road on which it fronts. Numerals for residential buildings shall be no less than two inches high and one inch wide. Numerals for nonresidential buildings shall be no less than six inches high and two inches wide and shall not contribute toward the permitted square footage for advertising signage.

Members participated in training with our new airbag systems. Reps from Paratech rescue equipment came to South Wall and provided 3 hours of hands on training on hi pressure and low pressure air cushions. This equipment replaced old airbags that were past their expiration date. They are in service on our Heavy Rescue truck and are part of our Structural Collapse and Vehicle Extrication equipment. 
Today South Wall was honored to provide a cover assignment in for Tinton Falls Fire Company # 1 while they attended a life members funeral. Squad 378 (equipped with Holmatro Rescue tools and RIT equipment) staffed a crew of 6 members stood by between the hours of 5pm – 9pm. South Wall handled two calls during this assignment with out incident.
On October 15, 2014 South Wall Fire Rescue responded to a structure fire in our District. Agencies assisting on scene were Wall Fire Company 1, Glendola Fire Company, Point Beach Fire Company. The fire is being investigated by Wall Township Police and Monmouth County Prosecutors Office.
South Wall Fire Rescue held our annual open house on October 5, 2014. This was a huge success despite the rain. We would like to thank every one who came out to meet the firefighters, see the equipment and continue to support us! 
On September 9, 2014 South Wall Fire Rescue was inspected by the Ocean County Fire Marshals Office and achieved the FAST certification.
Our members, equipment, training and SOGs were reviewed and accepted!
South Wall Fire Rescue has been recognized by Monmouth County as a certified FAST team for years and now recognized in Ocean County.
On Saturday, October 4, 2014 South Wall Fire Rescue will be holding its annual open house. The time is 12pm-3pm. Please come out and meet our firefighters! The event is located at our Main Firehouse, 2605 Atlantic Ave, Wall Twp.
There will be equipment and firefighting demonstrations, Refreshments, and All equipment will be on display including our new Rescue equipment and Structural Collapse Trailer!
