The following days after the snow storm members from South Wall are pictured clearing out hydrants in our Districts. When every second counts having clear access to a fire hydrant is essential for firefighters as we respond to fires. Snow can be considered an obstruction and we would appreciate residence to be mindful of conditions of hydrants when shoveling driveways and side walks. Adopt a hydrant near you and clear a 3 foot radius around it for safety!

Members have had a busy first two weeks of 2014 so far with 17 calls total to date 13 of them being in the last 7 days. Calls range between motor vehicle accidents, alarms, broken water pipes and sprinklers due to the extreme cold.

January 1, 2014 South Wall Fire Rescue held their annual Officer Swearing in ceremony.

On the evening of Sunday, December 22 Santa made a few special visits in South Wall. Hopefully everyone heard the sirens in time to look out the window and see Santa in the front of the truck! It was a great time had by all! Happy Holidays!

Local Den 5 Tiger Scouts sent a fantastic Thank you card to our members after a firehouse tour! Thank you and you are always welcome!

Members took part in a friendly Turkey Bowl game against the brothers from Unexcelled Fire Company in Neptune. We all had a great time! See you in 2014!

During the drill Monday District 3 was dispatched to a large pile of leaves on fire. Remember, be careful where you discard cigarettes! The fire was extinguished with out incident.

Members took part in a MAYDAY Lecture and hands on training provided by All Hands Fire Training. It was an outstanding night!

South Wall Members took park in training in Remote Location Rescue drill in Allaire State Park on Sunday. Members along with Wall Community First Aid used ropes and rigging to practice removing victims from low angles safely.
