Engine 378 currently serves as the career division’s engine and second out engine for motor vehicle accidents. “Engine 3” as it’s known, has a primary role in fire extinguishment. However the engine is setup as a “squad” with multiple purposes, including a Holmatro Duo pump with a RAM, Combi tool, NCT cutter, HAZMAT supplies, Airbags and RIT equipment. The aforementioned gives the crew the ability to perform rescue tasks until the arrival of Rescue 3-86 arrives. The engine is equipped with BLS equipment and is staffed daily with an NJ-EMT certified crew to assist in ALS calls within the fire district.
