Interested in becoming a firefighter? Members who join our fire company must complete the firefighter 1 program usually at Middletown Fire Academy. This is an intensive 180 hours of classroom and hands on training, which class is held every Tuesday, Thursday evening and Saturday full day. This training includes military drill, physical training, Hazardous material, Structure fire and Vehicle Fire training along with many other topics. Recruits must complete the class and successfully pass a State written final exam as well as “JPR” which are hands on job performance requirements that are pass/fail.

Three of our probationary members will be graduating on June 20, 2015 from Middletown Fire Academy and have grown through the program into firefighters ready to safely help the community as professional firefighters.

Their training will not stop there however, besides learning from our in house training, on the job experience and senior members, our firefighters continually take classes at local fire academies to expand upon the knowledge and abilities of the members and the company together.
