South Wall Firefighters build the “Flags in the Field” memorial every year to remember those lose in 9/11/01. There are 343 flags that are put into the ground representing the 343 FDNY Firefighters lost on that day. We remember all those lost that day, especially from our area and those still suffering from working ground zero during the aftermath.
